New Beginnings in a New Year

I hope this finds you, your family and friends well and that you have had a wonderful holiday.  As Jeen and I prepare to leave Vermont for Tennessee to see our family and celebrate both Christmas and New Year together, I wanted to take a moment to wish you a Happy New Year.

I actually love the start of a new year – it allows both a fresh perspective and a new beginning.  Old things have a new opportunity to be made right (marriages, kids, finances, health, and relationships to name a few), there are new challenges that stretch us and new adventures to experience and conquer.  Each new year that is placed before me is a stark reminder that my time isn’t over – there are still things I am supposed to do, fresh acts of grace and kindness that I can show others, and a restored understanding that both you and I can make a difference in the lives of those around us.

I am thankful.
